Installation of Rtn.AroonKumar as the 21st President of the Club

The 21st President of the club, Rtn. President R R Aroonkumar was installed on July 7, 2017 at The Boat Club, Chennai along with his team of office bearers. PDG C R Raju graced the occasion as the chief guest. The incoming President outlined his plans for the Rotary Year 2017-18 to the assembled audience. Outgoing President Ramamoorthy was congratulated for having delivered an outstanding Rotary year for the club. The incoming and outgoing secretariesexchanged the club charter.
The incoming President was introduced to the audience by Rtn PP Ravindran with a touch of humour. First Lady Padma also graced the dias along with other dignitaries. Outgoing President Ramamoorthy installed the incoming President, after which the club charter was exchanged between the incoming and outgoing secretaries. Rtn S Krishnan was kind enough to act as the outgoing secretary of the club in the absence of secretary P G Kuppuswamy, who is
away on vacation.

Mr. Prakash Padmanabhan, a chartered accountant by profession, was inducted as a member of the club by chief guest PDG C R Raju. Rtn V N Krishnan, who also anchored the meet, introduced the new member to the audience. A charge, welcoming the new member into the fold of Rotary was read out by Master of Ceremonies, Rtn V N Krishnan. The July 17 issue of the club’s monthly bullettin, “The Creek“ was released immediately after the installation of the
President and his team. A one page brochure of the club detailing the focus areas of the club was also presented and distributed.
A host of club presidents graced the function with their presence. Current district Governor dropped in at the venue, before the start of the proceedings, to convey his wishes to the incoming President. Due to prior commitments, he could not wait for the formal installation function.
Our club’s assistant governor Rtn Ganapathy Suresh introduced the chief guest. Chief guest PDG C R Raju advised the club members to continue with the exemplary work being done by the club year after year. He also advised the club to focus in increasing membership strength of the club. He laid emphasis on “Making a Difference“ to lives of underprivileged section of the society around us. Incidentally this year’s Rotary theme also happens to be “Rotary:
Make a Difference“.
